WOW, WE SAVED IT!!!

On 25th April we heard the fantastic news from the Welsh Government that the American utility company, Western Power Distribution (WPD), who own the reservoirs, had lost their last planning appeal. This should mean the reservoirs are now saved for future generations to enjoy sailing, fishing and walking again. CLICK HERE to read the Echo article.

8th June UpdateWPD had until the 8th June to appeal but, further good news,  they're not going to -  Click Here for the news story.  Therefore the campaign now moves into a new phase which is to restore the reservoirs as a public amenity. So the campaign and fundraising willl continue and the Save Our Cardiff Reservoirs Walk will still happen! And if we hear that WPD now wish to work constructively towards restoring the reservoirs to their former glory then any funds raised from the walks will be given to that purpose.

WPD Lose Planning Appeal!

Its taken a while to get the Planning Inspector's decision but worth the wait - Western Power Distribution/The Philadelphia Power & Light Corporation have lost their planning appeal! This is great news for the whole of Cardiff. It means we keep the reservoir amenity - sailing, fishing and walking at the reservoir can be enjoyed by future generations.

It shows that a multinational which makes billions of pounds of profits don't always win. Sometimes the democratic process does work!
